Where did the cleanup take place?
Octobers cleanup took place in India, more specifically Hamarapur & Kharpada.
Hamarapur is situated 60 km south-east of Mumbai. The village is a small community of approx 3000 people. Around 7 km north-west we find the Kharpada village situated near the Patalganga river.
Who was involved?
Indias Barn is a Norwegian aid organisation working to improve living conditions of children in India, with focus on family and education, empowering women and social programs. The organisation was founded in 1991 and is a politically and religiously neutral. Indias Barn work in four areas of the Maharashtra state on the west coast of India: in the metropolitan slums of Mumbai and Pune, and in the countryside of Raigad and Dabhol, in total over 140 villages.
The collaboration is held at two sites: Hamarapur and Kharpada.
